There is no need to display your pagerank on your blog
A common graphic I see on a new bloggers sidebar is the PageRank button, a simple graphic which displays the pagerank of the blog. I’ve even noticed this on blogs who have a pagerank of 0!
I don’t think theres any need to display your pagerank on your blog sidebar. The reason is simple, there are only two people who care about your blogs pagerank, you and your blog sponsors. Your readers do not care if your blog has a pagerank of 0 or 6, it makes no difference to them. Currently BloggingTips has a pagerank of 0, does this bother you? (I hope it doesn’t!!!).
If you are going to display your pagerank somewhere on your blog I recommend adding it to your advertising information page as most potential advertisers will be interested to know what it is. Other than that I wouldn’t display the pagerank anywhere else on your blog as the only one who wants to see it is you
Adding this kind of button to your sidebar does nothing but clutter it up in my opinion (I’ll talk about blog clutter more tomorrow).
Do you display your pagerank proudly on your blog? If so, what is the main reason for displaying it so prominently?
